Friends, this is the BEST vegan fried chicken recipe. It’s seriously crunchy on the outside with well-seasoned breading full of nooks and crannies. But the inside is what makes this vegan fried chicken different from all the rest. You won’t believe how tender, juicy and meaty this vegan ‘chicken’ tastes and looks. Flavour bursts from layers of ‘meat’ as you bite into it.

I stumbled across the secret to creating this realistic, crispy and juicy vegan chicken last year (you might have seen it on my Instagram stories) and have since perfected it so you can make it easily at home. Make deep-fried vegan chicken on your stove top or deep-fryer for the absolute best vegan chicken you’ve ever had. Or, you can bake these golden pieces of juicy perfection in the oven for the best oven-fried vegan chicken ever. And it’s gluten-free to boot!

BTW, using food that has been frozen and thawed twice is safe, as long as you do it right! Don’t forget to read the printable recipe before you start.

Christy Hardy says:

OMG this looks so good 😍 using the same method (as far as the tofu base goes) to make "not chicken" for a balsamic~caprese style sandwich on ciabatta 💖💖 But, I can't wait to get around to this recipe for one of my naughty splurges.

I've never been a big fan of chicken (or meat in general) so much as the things that people do with it & tended to enjoy the processed versions that are pressed with veggie protein isolates & binding agents anyway… So this is right up my alley. Trying to go vegan for the umpteenth time (it has always made me sick around month 2-3) & hoping that with the additional research I've done & by being more mindful of my nutrient intake, I can stick with it for good this time.

To anyone entertaining the idea, there are so many innovations in the industry/movement now it is insane. The foods available at stores, chain restaurants are becoming more vegan friendly, the plethora of recipes out there.. It is amazing. If you haven't watched it yet & you have access to Netflix, I highly recommend watching The Game Changers. It is so inspiring, enlightening & if seeing those football players eat that feast doesn't get you salivating… I just don't know what will. Have a good one everybody 💖
