What should I use:silken tofu or extra firm tofu?!!
Missing the Harvey's Bristol cream, douse that cake in Sherry dammit! 🤪
Just made this. The initial taste was really good but then the after taste hit. The after taste kind of made me nauseous; which sucks, I really wanted to like it. I ended up not using it and just using the cake, fruit, and coco whipped cream. My non-vegan family wouldn’t be able to eat the trifle if I used the custard.
Ha ha that's nuthin like an English trifle where I've never heard of jam instead of fresh fruit.
I hate coconut flavoring in my desserts. Unless its tropical. Is there something else that can be used? Or can you taste it? Im really thinking about that cook book your food looks amazing!
You have the best food camera shots than any other YouTuber. 🙌🏼
Where's the jelly ? Traditional English trifle has JELLY .
Making a trifle for Christmas, and was wondering… can I prep the custard the day before and leave it in the fridge until I assemble it the next day?
Looks delicious I'll have to try this version with the addition of the traditional sherry. Thank you.
Omg!! I love watching your channel!! You bring such joy to my heart!! I'm still laughing at your pink vegan balls video!!🤣🤣
Omg come the the UK. Come to Manchester xxxxxxxxx
It's impossible to hate you. You guys are very talented. Lots of love from Scotland. Thank you!
People dont use tiny spoons or drink tea btw in the UK
I love that Lauren's taste tests consist of eating half of the dish. :3
A little skeptical about the custard. I mean how can u tell us how great of a custard taste & consistency it has when u dont even like the taste & consistency of an original custard. I’m thinking u probably created something that taste great but is nothing similar to a custard.
THANK YOU SO MUCH 😭❤️❤️❤️
So I made the custard part this evening as a test run to make sure I got it right before entertaining [non-vegans] tomorrow but when I tasted it, there was a bit of an unpleasant aftertaste. The consistency is great and the up front flavor is right on. Not sure if it's the tofu or the nooch or…I used turbinado sugar instead of regular granulated. Think that could be it? I don't think it's the tofu but I've never heated tofu up on the stove in liquid form before. I really really want to figure this out because it would be so nice to have that custard recipe in my back pocket with endless possibilities. Help!
Nooch in the custard?! Mind blown!
Would soaked Cashews work?
That’s not an English trifle as such a proper English trifle is jelly &/or fruit/sponge on the bottom, then custard in the middle, a layer of cream on top then decorated with cherries & Angelica or hundreds & thousands sprinkles.
