Whether you’re from Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra, there is one breakfast staple that never disappoints: Poha! This yummy and wholesome flaked rice recipe is a classic maharashtrian dish with onions, peas and cauliflower!

Just before you start the tempering process, soak the raw Poha/ flaked rice in water for 30 seconds and strain it immediately.
Heat 50ml oil
Add 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
Add 1/2 tsp cumin/jeera
Add 1/4 tsp Hing/ Asoefoetida
1 medium size green chilli chopped
Add 8-10 curry leaves
Add 1 medium sized onion finely chopped
Add 1 tsp sugar
Add 1/2 tsp Haldi/Turmeric powder
Add chopped cauliflower and green peas
Add 2 cups of Poha
Add salt to taste
Add 1 tbsp copped coriander
Garnish with coriander and desiccated coconut
Serve hot!
