I just made this with plain button mushrooms (and added some white wine vinegar for acidity). I was sceptical when I just tasted the "sauce", but all my doubts disappeared once I added the pasta. For the price, this is nearly unbeatable!

That looks like such a great recipe. I think i'd like to add a bit more oil and some tomato paste, and a bit of pasta water to loosen it up so you can put the noodles through it. Theres a lot you could do with that, bet it'd make a great lasagna filling too, or a nice tortellini filling
