Mushy peas need marrowfat peas. You used garden peas. Different animal.

Why remove the skin?

if you make a decent batter, you don't need to flour the fish.

Other English recipe variations use turmeric and even curry along with beer in the batter. Ive tried them both together, absolutely lovely.

That fish looks horrible.. I would never eat that.He destroyed a good portion of fish.
