As a non-vegetarian this was my first attempt at a nut roast & i'd always thought they were dry & a bit bland… this attempt was so good! They call it a "head" because it's mostly round & grows # the top of the plant. LOL
Needs more gravy
Vegan rennet does exist. Even my vegan granddaughter would eat this with the right shopping, I make the same veg dish but wuth butter instead of the honey! Love these! please consider doing a few more!

I cringed at cauliflower cheese and gravy but I've never tried it together so I'm not going to be negative about it but can't see me trying it.

Barry, rinsed the carrots. What about the lentils and leeks? Way too much dirt in both.
This is soooo easy to veganize. The bechamel/cheese sauce, use milk free margarine and plant milk (I have liked soy, almond and oats milk for sauce). You can make it without cheese, just have nutritional yeast and some garlic powder in it, but I sometimes also add a littlegrated vegan cheese. Pretty much the same for gravey, use the margarine and use a good veggie stock, add a little veggie stock powder if the flavor is too bland. Also onion, garlic powder and of course pepper! If it lacks something, something sweet may be needed, e.g. a spoon or two of lingonberry jam or redcurrant jelly (The BEST!). A little balsamic dressing is an option too. Bottom line, just be a bit creative and veganize where needed… Thanks a lot, Barry! ๐๐๐๐๐๐โค๏ธ
You should wash those lentils. Just add water like you did, then swoosh them around, pour out the water and do it again one or two times… ๐๐๐

Thanks for these lovely recipes. Theyโre great for my Aunty. Sheโs a vegetarian and itโs hard to find something to make her thatโs not too much hassle. These seem really quick and easy to make.
