Thinly sliced potatoes are combined with butter, cream and tons of cheese before being baked to a bubbly, golden perfection. Simple to prepare and fantastic for entertaining.
—————————————-FULL RECIPE BELOW————————————–
INGREDIENTS
3 ounces Butter
1 garlic clove minced
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2 cups low-fat milk
2 cups shredded white cheddar
5 cups thinly sliced yukon gold potatoes
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the garlic and cook 1 minute. Whisk in the cornstarch, salt and pepper until smooth.
Gradually add the milk and bring to a boil. Cook the sauce stirring constantly until thickened, approximately 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of the cheese until melted. Stir in the potatoes.
Transfer to a 2 quart baking dish coated with cooking spray. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 30-45 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the sauce is golden brown and bubbling.
Remove from the oven and allow to stand 5-10 minutes before serving.

I am this last weekend it was so amazing
can I use full cream milk instead of low-fat milk? will that make a difference or no cus
we don't have it in the fridge and I'm planning on making this for dinner later
Making it tonight
I made it today. It's more than perfect.Thnx.a lot for the receipe
Girl this looks good but give this a try. Use evaporated milk instead . Use atleast 2 long blocks of cheese (marble) add chopped green onions and basic seasonings like salt and pepper . Boil the potatoes ( until a little tender it will finish cook in the oven ) and dont cut them too thin. Layer it instead of mixing everything together . Start with the cheese sauce ( will be less thick but thats what u want as it will get thicker in the oven) top it off with the rest of sauce make sure everything is well covered . Bake at 350 until golden brown at the top. Let cool before serving or it will be a hot mess on your plate trust me!! This is what we call potato pie where i come from. ( we add more things to spice it up but i gave you the simple easy recipe . )
Is it fine if I add mushrooms?
Could I use flour instead of corn starch?
I made these in July. And god they were the best that I ever tasted. Well I’m back to make again. So lucky to have found this video again!!!
