Lomo saltado is a popular delicious Peruvian dish . Recommend it highly . Did not know mushroom was included.

The food of Peru is great! There is an immense variety of Peruvian dishes without meat, recipes like tacu tacu, tallarines verdes, aguadito, carapulcra, pachamanca, quinoa arebozada, rice with pallares, chaufa rice, sopa de vegetales, and on, and on, and on. All these dishes could also have some type of meat added, but they do stand great without it. The Peruvian cuisine of ancient times, even before, and during the Inca Empire, was mostly vegetarian, with an occasional meat, mostly stews of potatoes, hot peppers, quinoa, vegetables, and herbs. The available meats were mostly ducks, wild turkeys, river, and lake fish, all kinds of seafood, and so on. Later with the arrival of the Europeans, Africans, and Asians, meats became more common in the country’s recipes. Good video. Best wishes!

My boyfriend is Peruvian and his mom ALWAYS makes lomo saltado, I tried it a few times before going vegan and it was so amazing, i have been saying how the recipe is all vegan except the meat which can easily be left out. Looks delicious I cant wait to recreate! One thing though… may seem dumb to ask but you mention its Peruvian rice… well what makes it Peruvian 🤷‍♀️ how did you guys make it? Water to rice ratio were there spices herbs anything put in? Can some one help I'd really love and appreciate knowing!
