I tried the recipe, came out very soggy so I added extra flour and baked them, which took about 45 mins. Written recipe has 6 Tbsp of oil, I think this is meant for the frying, not to be included in the mix! I enjoyed the taste, but next time I will try a different brand of less mushy tinned chickpeas (maybe dry them a bit, not just drain them) and without the oil!

Nope does not work with the brand canned chickpeas I used. Just falls apart into mush. Maybe the canned ones differ in quality? I have always done mine with soak ones after my first attempt with canned ones that ended in disaster. So I was pretty happy to find this recipe. Shame it did not work.

Tried this falafel in Golan that has sesame, not just Tahini, real sesames. One of the best falafel I’ve ever had.

Huge recommendation: I lived in Israel 50 years ago and the entire Middle East when making the falafel balls deep fries them…
1) deep fry the balls
2) open the pita and fill with the balls and Israeli salad(diced tomatoes, and cucumber) and add humas and if you can take the hot spices
add Israeli harif (hot sauce).
3) you can add other ingredients if you desire.
Falafels are one of my favorites. πŸ₯’πŸ…πŸ₯™
