This is my most favourite vegan chili recipe ever! Unlike a lot of vegetarian chili recipes, this isn’t just layers of beans. In my vegan chili recipe I dry season and then dry out tofu, and stir it into the chili. This make the tofu this amazing chewy, super satisfying chili that is above and beyond any meatless chili I have ever tried. I hope you love this recipe as much as I do!

You nailed it! This is the best vegan chili I’ve ever had, even better than a fussy one by America’s Test Kitchen that was just meh. I did a couple of tweaks by frying a blob of tomato paste for umami, as well as some spices bc I’ve heard their flavor is oil soluble. I’m a meat eater trying to eat more plant based, and it’s been a challenge finding good recipes.THANK YOU for a yummy go-to vegan recipe.

Delicious, Sam! I kicked up the heat by using canned Ro-Tel Hot Diced Tomatoes with Habaneros for this recipe, which definitely bumps up its rank on the Scoville scale! It makes that dollop of vegan sour cream on top all the more appreciated.

We loved it! Indeed the best chili ever. As with all tomato sauces, I added a small bit of fenugreek leaves. I find that it balances the tomato's tanginess.
