Been a Joey D subscriber for about 5 years, and a vegan for 3. Therefore I’m more committed to being a Joey D subscriber. Legit.

Paul Thiel says:

Good to see you again, Joey… and I hope the foot heals up fast, lad.

Now… this comment will probably get shat on, but I'm going to drop it here nonetheless.

Veganism is not a diet or class of food. It is a lifestyle that is rooted in compassion for ALL animals—not just "pets" and "endangered species". And I've watched enough of your content to suggest that you probably care about animals and have the capacity for deep compassion.

BILLIONS of land animals are abused, tortured and slaughtered to "feed humans". And if you factor in fish and aquatic animals the numbers shift into the TRILLIONS. For perspective, in the UK alone, something like 2.8 BILLION animals have already been slaughtered this year… and that number climbs at over 300 animals EVERY SECOND.

Now of course, there is no such thing as a "humane death". But regardless, anyone with half a brain knows that you can't "humanely" breed, care for and ultimately slaughter BILLIONS of animals without horrific levels of abuse and suffering. Just Google and watch Earthlings if you want to have your eyes opened to the horror.

In a modern society, the reason we eat meat is not for our health or because it's good for us. It's because it is pleasurable and convenient. Yes there's tradition and religion and ancestors, blah, blah, fucking blah. But there's no escaping the fact that most meat is cheap, stores well, and yes, tastes good.

And that's the horrific reality of where we are. Animals as commodities. Horrific suffering, torture and ultimately death merely to satisfy our tastebuds. To afford us great convenience and easy social engagement. It's crazy…. and it has to stop.

So where am I going with this? In truth, probably nowhere. Like I say, this comment will probably get shat-on or summarily deleted.

But we can't be all save-the-tigers and helpling ducklings across the road and then eating maccyDs and bacon sarnies like it's "normal". It's not MEAT. It is a part of a dead animal—one that suffered horribly from the second it came into this world.

You did such a great job today at demonstrating just how easy and satisfying it is to eat healthy and delicious food without supporting the torture and slaughter of animals, that I want you to make the connection. I NEED you to make the connection.

With half a million subs (near enough) you have a great platform from which you can educate and drive change in your generation.

Because if YOU can join the dots and decide that supporting the torture and slaughter of animals is not justified to please your tastebuds or convenience, others will make the connection to.
Anyway, as a former meat eater and professed "animal lover" who finally woke up to the incongruity and contradiction—I know you can too.

Cheers.

Zor Huaj says:

how much protein does joe eat a day normally, anyone know?

Eddie says:

Used to drink 200g oat shakes every morning. Definitely needed a new hoop, after 2 weeks though, body adjusted and it actually helped me to get shredded with ease due to the fact I wasn't feeling too hungry and overeating, but was still able to train pretty hard from all the carbs consumed. Never again though 😀

Plant Based Fitz says:

Great video!
I was excited thinking you went vegan😂

Aled says:

Joey would you do a video on your opinion on veganism and body building? It's hard to find non biased opinions from not vegan YouTubers and we all know you keep it real mate.

Morgan Von Bogel says:

You saying you don’t want that Matt Hancock physique?🥵

8040 i says:

He stays talking about Ibiza, one of the longest running jokes that I’ve seen

Jack Hart says:

How did you cook/ season the tofu Joey d?

James says:

Anyone else here old enough to remember the Ryan Giggs Quorn adverts from the 90s? 😆

Aidan says:

Sorry mate but your content has completely changed from when I started watching you. But don't worry, I'm still here to relive the old days. Old Ibiza vlog here I go.

daftSahil says:

Thank you for this!

Phil McCool says:

The 1970's "incomplete protein" myth sure is pervasive, but comparing the essential amino acid content of plant protein to actual human requirements (rather than arbitrary assumed requirements) shows each one is adequate. The only incomplete protein is gelatin due to no tryptophan. Otherwise it was a great video.

HJ L says:

What time do you eat your last meal?
